Description: 82 Queen is pleased to share with you the delicious recipes that have helped to make this Charleston's premier restaurant. Inside its cookbook you'll find a collection of the finest Lowcountry recipes from the restaurant flavored with colorful humor and historical highlights.

Nestled in the heart of Charleston's historic district known as the French Quarter, 82 Queen's beautiful buildings are situated on the site of the former Schenckingh's Square. Part of the original walled city of Charles Towne, the Square dates back to the 1600s when South Carolina was a newly formed colony.

The Great Fire of 1861 completely destroyed 82 Queen Street. Seventeen years later, the earthquake of 1886 caused considerable damage. The properties were used as multi-family complexes until a new owner rented them out to shops and offices. The property was later an Italian restaurant called Il Giardino in 1978.

In 1982, under the loving stewardship of its new owners Joe Sliker, Harvey Poole and Steve Kish, 82 Queen opened its doors. This magnificent restaurant boasts eleven dining areas and a signature garden courtyard. Each dining area has its own particular ambiance, conveying the splendor of days gone by.
